Remove evolution-exchange from ubuntu-desktop

Bug Description

I believe that evolution-exchange should be removed from ubuntu-desktop. When the exchange component of evolution is installed, evo always launches a helper daemon (evolution-exchange-storage). This uses 1.2 mb of user memory.

Given that Exchange is a relatively rare usage of evolution (remember that Ximian used to charge for the component), and that a deployment of evolution-exchange would be seen in an enterprise environment, where the system is customized anyways, it's not clear why this is in the default environment.

This should have status confirmed. And why do gnome starts something users don't need and why is this not in startup options for Gnome?

No it should since we nobody decided yet that would be something to do. GNOME doesn't start it, evolution does, and you should better ask that question to the people working on that software than to the people packaging it

The matter of the daemon should be taken up with the Evolution developers upstream. Perhaps it could be fixed to only run this daemon if required.

This functionality should be available to those who need it, out of the box.

I completely agree. The current setup makes it impossible to fully remove evolution, even if you have no need for it. I understand why the component is there, but there should be an option to remove it if you won't use the feature.

Um...

Since "ubuntu" packages it, YOU(ubuntu) guys should raise the issue with the Evolution people.
I cannot figure out a simple way to diable the $@% <evolution-exchange-storage> process from running at startup.

A) It should be available to those who need it
B) It should NOT be enabled and running by default.
C) It should be easily configurable to ON, or OFF as needed regardless of anything else.

Stop passing the buck ubuntu peeps !
