ibook pseudo-numpad acts as directional keys

Bug Description

The ibook has a small keyboard. It has a pseudo-numpad embedded in the keyboard. Numpad off means the keys acts as the letters they are, Numpad on should make the square 7 to 0, u to p, j to ö (on my keyboard), m to ., into a numerical numpad.

In dapper, circa flight 6:
The numpad acts as directional keys when activated.

Expected results:
As this nupad only has one state (on/off, not dir/num), it should be numbers when activated.

In breezy, this works as intended: the pseudo-numpad inserts numbers when active.

I can confirm this on my iBook G4. The behaviour is the same in the console.

Can someone test this on Dapper 6.06.1 or Edgy Beta 1 so we can see if this bug still exists.

Is this still an issue in Intrepid/Jaunty?

(as original reporter) I am not following ubuntu anymore, so I don't know. (my ibook is powerpc so I use debian on it, since debian has official powerpc support). FWIW, debian lenny still has it! :-)

Can anyone on Ubuntu confirm the issue still exists on Jaunty? (I'm guessing if it's still affecting Debian, it still affects Ubuntu, but needs testing.)

Since the hardware is no longer available for doing troubleshooting with, we'll have to close the bug for now. However please feel free to reopen if you or anyone else has the same HW and can reproduce this issue using the latest development version of Ubuntu and is willing to do some troubleshooting with it.
