http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Dapper not matching real world

Asked by Hans Christian Andersen

There is a mismatch between the http://ubuntuguide.org and a dapper install.

I could not configure a client to print.

The guide says:
<quote>
Client configuration

 sudo cp /etc/cups/client.conf /etc/cups/client.conf.backup
 gksudo gedit /etc/cups/client.conf
<unquote>
but the client.conf file does not exist in a fresh dappar install.
the contence of /etc/cups is :
hca@hca-desktop:~$ ls -l /etc/cups
totalt 64

If someone would give sufficient advice to make my LAN work with printint (cups) I would gladly assist in rewriting the paragraph in the ubuntuguide.

In Breezy that file was included in package libcupsys2-gnutls10. Now it is missing in Dapper and Edgy.

Not quite sure what you want to achieve. Do you wish to setup your Ubuntu computer as a print server or use an existing network printer from Ubuntu?

The first:
I want to use an Ubuntu computer with a printer as server for print from
a different Ubuntu computer. Eventually for a MS-XT computer as well.
