Priorities for this series are:
* Splitting sigtar files at the same limit as difftar and others. This is primarily to support the new hash from librsync which is twice the size of the old hash.
* Overhaul the manifest file and make it more useful for reporting and recovery.
* Dropping Python 2.6 support and improving Python 3 compatibility.

0.9-series series Active Development

This series will feature the full transition from Python 2 to Python 3 native code, no python-future support.

This was the focus of development until June 2016. This branch should now be considered stable and new features should be merged into 0.8, with ongoing development of this branch limited to bug fixes.

It is likely to become obsolete quickly, but regressions should be limited.

0.6-series series Obsolete

The 0.6 series has reached End-Of-Life as of 12 June 2016. No further updates or upgrades will be made to it. The long term support folks can easily upgrade to the tarball version, the Daily PPA, or the Stable PPA, depending on their needs.
