This is a major bugfix release.

Fixed in this release:
lp:1284803 - race between writeset initialization and applying could break IST on joiner.
lp:1152565 - overrun of the main GCache ring buffer (creation of extra pages) could cause a segfault.
lp:1267507, lp:1274199 - off-by-one error in certification cleanup caused cleanup of the writeset that was already cleaned, released and possibly invalidated in the cache.

Fixed since last binary release:
lp:1182367 - network partitioning and remerge could cause cluster lock-up.
lp:1232747 - network partitioning and remerge could cause cluster crash.
lp:1255501 - donor could deadlock when pausing provider.
lp:1259952 - GCache allocation failed on some filesystems if the size was a multiple of page size.

This is the first GA release in 3.x series. Compared to 3.0 it contains a number of minor bugfixes and optimizations. Due to last time protocol changes it is incompatible with 3.0, but still compatible with 2.x series provided you include socket.checksum=1 in provider options.

Important enhancements compared to Galera 2.x:
- Introducing cluster segments to minimize WAN traffic
- Support for foreign preordered event interleaving
- Optimized writeset format
- 128-bit checksums on writesets
- Support for HW-accelerated CRC32

3.0-beta release from the 3.x series released 2013-09-20

Release notes:

This is the first release in a 3.x branch which is a major upgrade from 2.x. It introduces
- new writeset format optimized for performance and reduced memory usage.
- 128-bit writeset checksums, checked every time before writeset is applied, so that corruption cannot sneak in neither on disk, nor in transfer.
- hardware accelerated CRC32-C algorithm for network packets (and ability to turn it off completely). Parameter: socket.checksum.
- improved handling of preordered (read: master-slave replication) events, that preserves original event ID and offers better throughput.
- ability to divide cluster into segments with minimized communication between them to minimize network traffic over WAN. Parameter: gmcast.segment.

Plus all features from 2.7 release.
