The powerful EDA suite
gEDA is a powerful, matured and open source suite of tools for Electronic Design Automation, EDA. The two most prominent parts are gschem, an editor for schematics, and pcb, a versatile tool for creating PCB layouts. In between and around them tools like netlisters, footprint generators, simulation tool exporters, Gerber viewers and many more. While gEDA is often choosen by experts, it's also easily manageable by newbies.
