Indra is the King of the gods or Devas and Lord of Heaven or Svargaloka in Vedic Hinduism, and also he is the God of War, Storms, and Rainfall. Mentioned first as a god of war and warriors (Kshatriya) in the sacred Hindu text of Rig Veda, he subsequently became the chief deity.
