Kiko asked me directly for feedback.
I'm not really sure, as I'm not the one using this data. But I subscribed niemeyer and Keybuk which should have more authoritative answers.
As I understand it, a release can be associated to a tarball for import purposes (Dyson). Specifying a download URL for a series seems to be a way of allowing automatic creation of releases.
In other words. The tarball URL for a release is prescriptive, and the tarball URL for a series is indicative.
So I think that +addrelease form should really have an explicit URL field.
That's orthogonal to whether the summary or description field should be removed (I think one should be removed yes).

It seems to me that either the page text needs changing, or a field needs adding, so there's a bug one way or another.

People are still complaining that they are being misled by this form. Why not just remove that description, since it's pointless and inaccurate?

Probably (I am not familiar with release), but there's no longer any tarballs details on the +source form.

Removed the misleading description from that form. The functionality will be implemented by https:/

I think we should remove the description from that form and let the user upload the URL of the release tarball at the Upstream Source Import form (+source), where, IMHO, it fits better.
What do you guys think?
