reassigning the teamowner status

Bug Description

To reassign ownership status or admin status for the Ubuntu-women team <https://launchpad.net/people/ubuntu-women> only two options are available :
+ An existing person or team
+ A new team I'm creating here
We have 1 admin and 1 owner, but would like it to be merged and keep both as admins instead, thereby eliminating the need for owner status. Is that possible as currently if the ownership is changed, it cant be undone (that is understandable) but this new owner has to again add the person who created the team as the admin.
Also wouldnt it be easier to have a feature that tracks who created the team via their LP-ID, who transfered the ownership, retain original perms, etc...

I don't think I understand what you're asking for here, but when changing the owner of a team, the old owner should be automatically turned into an administrator of that team --it's a bug if this doesn't happen.

So what is the purpose of having two functions : -owner and
-administrator, if both share equal status for managing things. I
would like this clarified because as in any project people come and
go. But in the event the owner is unavailable and also they are unable
to inform their future unavailability to the team, then what ?

So if the owner goes MIA, it will be tough to get the ownership changed without talking to Launchpad Admins. IMO, the Admins should be able to do the basic day-to-day tasks without Owner privilege. This is NOTABUG IMHO.

I am closing this bug after confirming with Christian that owner and
admin rights cannot be merged currently.
