Im gonna assign this to the mozillateam for now but im not real sure if this is a mozilla issue yet. are you using mozilla-plugin-vlc or just vlc to reproduce this with vlc?

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061201 Firefox/2.0.0.1 (Ubuntu-feisty)
it worked when I tryied on edgy, but on feisty it wont work for me.
I do have vlc plugin for mozilla

Do you use compiz or beryl?
I had this problem once when one of those two also used F11 as a shortcut, it might be the same thing.
| Fernando Miguel (fernandomiguel) wrote : | #5 |
nope. I dont have beryl or any other window manager installed

Can not reproduce on Feisty Herd 2 with KDE 3.5.6.
Have you tried a new profile?
| Fernando Miguel (fernandomiguel) wrote : | #8 |
I'm using gnome.
I'll try with another user profile and report back.
| Fernando Miguel (fernandomiguel) wrote : | #9 |
fresh profile on both kernel 2.6.20-6-generic and kernel 2.6.20-5-generic, and still no F11 working

Is this something like Bug #54548 ?
| Fernando Miguel (fernandomiguel) wrote : | #11 |
Not sure Thomas. As I said, it happens on FireFox.
And yes, I do have vlc plugin for mozilla. I might try uninstaling that if u think it helps.
I don't think uninstalling will help. I just wanted to know if you can go to fullscreen mode with the _standalone_ VLC player. Can you?
using the "F" key shortcut, VLC wont maximize.

still waiting on updates on this... now one else has this problem?
| Alexander Sack (asac) wrote : | #15 |
does F11 work on some sites, but not on others or is it broken everywhere?
What extensions do you have installed? if you have any installed, try to run
# firefox -safe-mode
and let us know if that helps.
| Fernando Miguel (fernandomiguel) wrote : | #16 |
it doesnt work in any case, even with a new profile.
| Freddy Martinez (freddymartinez9) wrote : | #17 |
We can not confirm this until somebody can reproduce this bug.

So this is not only true for Firefox.
I think it also affects VLC. Have a look at Bug #54548.
I've done a fresh install of Ubuntu 7.04 based on herd4.
even with default FF profile, I cant get F11 key to work.
can it be a keyboard function mal set?
