live-installer is the Debian-installer's component (udeb package) for installing (copying) LiveCD to hard disk (or other rewritable media).
live-installer is the Debian-installer's component (udeb package) for installing (copying) LiveCD to hard disk (or other rewritable media).
It's based on parts of base-installer udeb and does this job:
1. checks if target partition(s) is(are) mounted on /target
2. cp -a dev bin boot etc home lib opt root sbin usr var /target
3. mkdir -p /target/media /target/mnt /target/proc /target/sys /target/tmp
4. creates an initrd image on /target system
