lmirror is a large scale mirroring program. In contrast with rsync it optimises for the case where few files to have changed and many hosts to be mirroring the same content.
lmirror is targeted at mirrors of free software projects and other mostly-write-once environments. lmirror is in an early alpha stage, where performance testing can take place but it is not feature complete. lmirror handles 1:N mirror situations with extremely low server and client load. Support is planned for barriers in its operations to permit the preservation of semantic structure on disk during the mirroring process.
