Track package versions in which a bug was fixed

Bug Description

sebest_ just suggested on IRC that he'd like to track the version in which a bug was closed, so that Malone could automatically close bugs in distro releases where an equal or newer version is present.

Before the "Fix Committed"/"Fix Released" statuses where implemented, I suggested keeping just "Fixed" and being able to optionally specify the affected version. sebest_ agreed that this would help address his use case.

On a related note, when you report a bug you should be able to :
- choose which distribution the bug is related to (breezy/hoary/dapper)
- the version of the package you are currently using

because "what version of ubuntu are you using" is often the first answer that people get to their bug report.

i guess that all of this is written in "good practice in reporting bugs", but who read the docs? ;)

Isn't this handled by the bug nomination feature?

I don't think so. The bugs that are important enough to be nominated would be a small proportion of the bugs that have their fixed-in versions recorded.

Matthew, I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Do you think people would enter the package version they're using rather than just saying "I'm using package X from Feisty"?

Diego, "apport" reports the package version, so we could (semi)automatically close the bugs based on the version numbers.

No, but I think that while few bugs will ever be nominated for a release, many more bugs will have the version they're fixed in recorded. An example of this is Launchpad itself, where we say "Fixed in RF XYZ" for many bugs, but never use release nominations.
