My main claim to fame, I guess, is that I share a birthday with our SABDFL. ;)

I have been a Linux user off-and-on since 1998 (regularily since Debian's d-i installer for sarge entered testing). I am not a programmer, nor do I play one on TV, but I am a user, both on the desktop and servers, and have been providing desktop and hardware support to employers, clients, friends and family members since the late 70's.

I am an outspoken open source advocate, and do what I can to encourage people I know to switch. Firefox is the easiest thing to sell someone on, and from there, you go with OpenOffice or Abiword, and amongst those users, you will find a few who are brave enough to give Linux a whirl.

As part of my business, I do custom system builds and promote Linux and other open source software as alternatives to expensive commercial software.
