SCons is a Make replacement providing a range of enhanced features such as automated dependency generation and built in cache support. SCons rule sets are Python scripts, so as well as the features it provides itself, SCons allows you to use the full power of Python to control the build.

The SCons project was hosted at Tigris with the mainline of development being a Subversion repository, but the mainline code source is now a Mercurial repository on BitBucket https://bitbucket.org/scons/scons/ -- the issue tracker is still on Tigris for the moment but will move soon. This Launchpad project is to support those people who prefer to work with Bazaar instead of Subversion, and as a way of supporting SCons in Ubuntu.
