Aim of the smartphone project is to make Ubuntu operate on modern Smartphone hardware.
By design modern Smartphones and PDAs come with restrictions when compared to larger devices like netbooks, laptops and desktop computers. This includes:
* Few input devices: Touchscreen and keypad only, sometimes additional keyboard.
* Small displays: Low precision.
* Small display resolutions: Less space for applications.
Solving GUI problems related to these restrictions form the key aims of this project currently.
