Bug Description
Greetings,
For those running Dapper English...there is no 'find local team' icon in the System->Help menu. There is only community support which lands to this page: http://
I am proposing that we modify that page to call out the fact that we have LoCos. Yes, today it says support in your language but my team, wiki:ColoradoTeam, provides support in the USA State of Colorado for Ubuntu users. I want to make it easier for them to find us, participate on LoCos, and also seek local help.
Thanks!
Joey

Hi Matt,
Yes today the ColoradoTeam performs a number of support related items:
1) Face to Face presentations
2) Face to Face Installfests/
3) Face to Face one-on-one fixing session
4) Email support for
- a) members on our list
- b) members via direct email
- c) other lugs via their lug lists
5) Via Qunu.com
Since we're in the USA, translation which is a big part of LoCo's, does not apply to us so we've had to find other ways to fill the gap.

That sounds pretty good. Ok, we should definitely work out a good way of incorporating this type of face to face support into the free support page. Let's think about the best way to do that.

Thanks Matt,
Here is my original idea:
Today we have a section called "Local Language support". If were to simply modify this to say "Local Support including Local Language Support" (or similar. I'm not stuck on the wording.) then we could add a link to https:/

I've implemented something similar to your suggestion at http://
Have a look and see what you think. Given that English language support is provided by the international community, I've limited the new section to talking about face to face local support.
For the moment, I have used a link to the LoCoTeam List wiki page, however I believe it would be better to establish a separate page which is limited to outlining *which* teams provide this kind of service.

Excellent. Thanks Matthew.
I'll be bringing the remaining questions up on the 8th at the LoCo meeting. Thanks!

Previously you indicated "I believe it would be better to establish a separate page which is limited to outlining *which* teams provide this kind of service." I think it would be a good idea for the LoCo teams to come back to you with that info instead of you having to do it on a best effort basis. I was planning to talk about this bug on Tuesday with the LoCo teams to see if they had any input on this.

We decided that we'd update the LoCo master team list to include whether or not Local Support is included. This would allow us to capture the English teams which do not appear on the website. Ticket is closed from my perspective. Thanks!

At the moment, that page only provides details of support which are essentially not limited by geographic location (forums, irc, mailing lists and so on are all not area-specific). That's why it's important to have links to how to get support in other languages.
What sort of local help do you provide? Face to face? If you give some more details, and other local community teams offer the same sort of help, then potentially we can think about expanding that page to incorporate this.
