Lenovo 3000 N100: Fn + F5 button which should shut off wireless and bluetooth does not do so.

Please try to track down the keyboard code or ACPI event that this key is sending by following the guide at:

and also including your 'dmidecode' data so that we can identify your laptop.

Thanks for the DMI data. Have you had any luck finding out what hotkey or ACPI event the Fn+F5 combination produces?

Also could you try manually doing:

  sudo modprobe ibm_acpi

and then again checking for any messages in:

  /var/log/messages

and:

  /var/log/acpid

I have been having some odd experiences. When i monitor the hotkey
presses I dont see any activity when i press the Fn + F5 combination.
I get hotkey output when pressing other keys just not this
combination. The result is the same for the other bugs i filled about
hotkeys. Fn + F4 and Fn + F12. There is no hotkey or acpi out put
associated with either of these.

It maybe the machine is behaving like a ThinkPad in some way; can you try the 'ibm_acpi' part suggested in the previous message.

Sorry for the maybe silly question, but:
Are you sure that it should work - when there is also a switch at the front of the laptop, which turns the stuff on and out?

Then you have a switch turned on, but with Keycodes turned of.. When you want to activate it via the switch again, you have to switch twice..

!?!

PS: And again - a Lenovo 3000 is no IBM! People think all the time such things like ibm_acpi etc. will work.. Why?

PPS: ThinkPad stuff is another story.

While we are at it Fn + F4 should suspend the laptop but it does not could
we knock out two birds with one stone? Here is the messages from the Fn +
