Bug Description

Binary package hint: cupsys

The following error occured when updating two different feisty-systems:

Setting up cupsys (1.2.8-0ubuntu5) ...
 * Starting Common Unix Printing System: cupsd cupsd: Child exited with status 2!
invoke-rc.d: initscript cupsys, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing cupsys (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 cupsys

/var/log/cups/error_log:
X [14/Mar/2007:12:21:53 +0100] Unable to load MIME database from '/usr/share/cups/mime:/etc/cups'!

In /var/log/cups/error_log I see:

As a work around one can create the following directory with root privileges: /usr/share/cups/mime

New packages (1.2.8-0ubuntu6) are on:

http://www.linux-foundation.org/~till/tmp/ubuntu/feisty/cupsys/binary/

They are on its way to Feisty now.

     *.types and *.convs files in /etc/cups when /usr/share/cups/mime
     did not exist. Fixed (closes: LP#92205).
