Bug Description

I just tried to open the Preferences dialogue: Edit -> Preferences. The window opened, but was empty, and the firefox process hung, including the main browser window. I had to close the main window, but it didn't close cleanly. I was trying to log into the National Lottery site and had forgotten my password (as FF remembers it for me ;)).

I'm having no luck attaching the crash report, I keep getting HTTP 500 errors:

500 Internal Server Error

An internal server error occurred. Please try again later.

The full report is 48.3MB though. I'll try the reduced report.

Hello James,

Thank you for the bug report, can I ask if this is reproducible every time?

Thanks again, Alex.

Unfortunately not. I think it's only happened the one time, so I was really hoping that the crash report would have enough information to explain why. I don't appear to have the full crash report in /var/crash any longer, so I suppose there's not much more to add -- it was probably just a transient environmental problem.

Hello James,

In my eyes the report you attached doesn't have enough information to continue with this report, it has an incomplete stack trace and no core dump, I am therefore going to close this report. If you can provide any more information please feel free to reopen this report.

Thanks again, Alex.

The error with Preferences Dialog occurred after the firefox automatic upgrade and firefox restart.
A Firefox close and open resolved the problem...
