Carlos, any idea why these files get dropped from the tarball?
Does this also affect the dapper-proposed packages which got uploaded yesterday?

See also bug 79682.
When will you fix this bug?

And bug 80415. I really just don't understand what's going on, and I haven't been able to reproduce this myself using Finnish. I installed 6.06.1 and put all the updates on it -> everything works. But many people are losing translations. Knowing a bit how gettext works, I understand even less... do you have any idea, Martin?

Ok, after some checks I found the problem.
With the language pack released on September, we shipped some .po files that shouldn't be there. We fixed that problem and with latest language pack, we stopped shipping those .po files but the way our .deb packages work produced that you lose all those translations.
Martin Pitt will prepare new packages that will fix this problem next week, once he's back from current Ubuntu sprint.
In the mean time, as a fast workaround, you could reinstall latest -base language packs and then, reinstall latest -updates ones. That should restore the translations.

dapper-proposed has new language packs which should fix the issue. Can you confirm?

dapper-updates now has the refreshed -base packages, so this is fixed now.
