Bug Description
Tried the LiveCD using both architectures. The alternate cd (amd64) seems to work fine. I thought it was a problem with recognizing my 700GB xfs (lvm) partition which was previously installed in Edgy, but even when I deleted all of the partitions (zero partitions in the partition table right now) booting the LiveCD still fails.
// MESSAGES ON SCREEN
udevd-event [2066]: run_program: '/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit
BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-3ubuntu2) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs)
// END MESSAGES ON SCREEN
The computer is not locked up, but I can not switch to tty1 (alt+f1 doesn't do anything). If I ctrl-alt-del without trying to switch to tty1, then it works. As soon as I try to alt+f1, I can no longer reboot. The computer seems to be stuck if I try to switch to a terminal.

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this bug to the new "linux" package. However, development has already began for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. It would be helpful if you could test the upcoming release and verify if this is still an issue - http://

Thanks for the report, but you filed the bug in the right place. This bug belongs in Ubuntu, not Malone. I will open a corrected task on Ubuntu.
