should use a background by default

Bug Description

A nautilus window looks sad an empty without a background, yet many people don't even know that a background can be added.

Setting a simple, unobstrusive background would make nautilus windows look much better to newcomers.

Here's the difference between an empty window and one with the snow white background:

Thanks for your bug. Maybe you could mail the ubuntu-desktop list about the topic?

Any news on the bug progress?
Setting a nautilus background is one of the first things that I do right after installing Ubuntu.
A Nautilus background (or a set of backgrounds/tiles) should be made to match existing Ubuntu themes.

Anyone wanna make a spec about it?

This is more a discussion for the ubuntu-art and ubuntu-desktop mailists or for Ubuntu Brainstorm at <http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com>. I'm marking this bug as Invalid.
Thanks!
