Bug Description
When I had Dapper Drake, I plugged in my USB devices (mp3 player, memory stick, etc) and it was auto-mounted and a window of the USB contents opened. But now, with Edgy Eft, when I plug in my USB devices they do not get auto-mounted, so I have to mount them manually each time. This also happens to many other people using Edgy Eft. I want to say, that Edgy Eft is a fantastc release, and I really love it. So, it is a pitty that this bug destroys things. Please fix it, and keep up the good work. :-)

Please attach /etc/fstab as well.

Programs must be written for people to read, and only incidentally for
machines to execute.

Indy, please use the web interface to attach the files.

Here are the files, at last :-)

Thanks. First, can you provide the output from "ls -l /dev/sd*" and "id" ?
I think we eventually will need the full procedure from https:/
| Indy (indy90-deactivatedaccount) wrote : | #8 |
OK, here are the other two command outputs.
| Tormod Volden (tormodvolden) wrote : | #9 |
Thanks, they were both fine. So we'll need the full https:/
| Indy (indy90-deactivatedaccount) wrote : | #10 |
Here are the others, as well, according to the url you gave me.

Please ignore the first lshal.txt.

This attachment was not done by mistake. It is the same file as a previous attachment, on purpose. Please, do not ignore this.

I also thought, that it would be useful to attach the output of "sudo nautilus" as well, because I find it a bit weird.
| Tormod Volden (tormodvolden) wrote : | #23 |
Why do you run nautilus as superuser (with sudo)? Do you get any weirdness if you just run it normally?
| Indy (indy90-deactivatedaccount) wrote : | #24 |
I don't run nautilus with sudo daily. I just did it for testing
reasons. No, if I run it with user privilleges I don't get that error.

According to your g-v-m log, the device was automounted:
manager.c/2618: Changed: /dev/sda1
manager.c/2020: mounting /org/freedeskto
manager.c/2170: mount queued for /org/freedeskto
manager.c/3044: Mounted: /org/freedeskto
manager.c/923: executing command: nautilus -n --no-desktop '/media/usbdisk'
maybe it's just nautilus that fails? What does 'mount' show after you do this?

Thanks for the bug report. Can you please attach the output of the dmesg command, as well as from the lspci and lsusb commands?
