Bug Description

Binary package hint: qpsmtpd

This is a SRU-update proposal for ubuntu-dapper package "qpsmtpd" bug
72602
.

The impact of the bug is that qpsmtpd on ubuntu-dapper will only work
until system is rebooted, at which time qpsmtpd will not start until
/var/run/qpsmtpd is manually recreated. Therefore, this very simple fix
from ubuntu-feisty should be backported to make the package also usable on LTS ubuntu-dapper.

This has been fixed in ubuntu-feisty between 0.32-4 and 0.32-4ubuntu1 in
the same way.

he attached debdiff (qpsmtpd_0.31.1-4ubuntu0.1~proposed1.debdiff) simply adds the 3 lines to the init-script and changes the version from "0.31.1-4" to "0.31.1-4ubuntu0.1~proposed1".

I understand that for changing debian/, changing the files directly is
better than using a dpatch, Hence this is a simple debdiff.

I agree, please upload to -proposed. Btw, has this been fixed in edgy and feisty?

I uploaded to Feisty[0].

The edgy-proposed SRU is bug 77485.

First note to avoud confusion here -- Im convinced Tollef meant to say "dapper-proposed" ... to avoid confusion here...

This has been tested on a dapper amd64 server using qpsmtpd as part of the mailsystem... and it now "Works-For-Me"....

Okay. I think I'm posting this in the right place (new to Launchpad) and doing the right type of post.

Tested this fix on Dapper machine, works for me.

Also tested in Dapper and works for me.

Accepted into dapper-updates. Next time, please just use bug tasks on 72602 instead of opening a new bug for each release, without even mentioning their numbers in the changelog.
