Bug Description

The Theme capplet now supports changing colours in a theme. Clearlooks supports this, but Ubuntulooks doesn't. http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/gtk-Resource-Files.html contains documentation of the how to fix this under the "Styles" heading.

Note the gtk_color_scheme line, and the references to it further down.

Hi,

Here is an UbuntuLooks version with color scheme support.

Please test and comment.

The GtkRC file attached above is very similar to the old ubuntulooks colours, but the window border and the menu selection colours are darker than they used to be.

Actually, I didn't have the default colours on in that screenshot, the only thing I notice that is different is the window border being a garish orange colour as opposed to the old brown one.

Hi,

That's true. This is due to the limited number of customizable colors.
All brown and oranges are base on the same colors. This lead to a orange
everywhere theme. Note that, on my laptop, the colors are a bit lighter.

Anyway, the issue is : is that ugly ? Can we accept those tiny changes ?
It's not up to me to decide wether this file is fine or not, this is up
to the sabdfl.

Would be nice if you can tune the file.

Étienne.

I realise that it is impossible to get the colours exactly the same, but it seems as if the selected_bg_color:#FF6D0C is too bright, and this causes the window border to quite orangey.

Use shade() and/or mix() to determine an as close as possible color.
Imho, the current metacity-frame background is inconsistent with the
orange. Using a color based on @selected_bg_color is a mendatory.

Salut,

Very nice work Kwwii. However, there is still two bugs from mine :

      * Inactive notebooks tabs does not depend on @bg_color
      * TreeView does not depend on @base_color

A good test is to try to get a dark variation of UbuntuLooks. Keep the
orange and change the grey to black.

This is now fixed in Hardy (mind you, Ubuntulooks is no longer default as well).
