Bug Description

Eclipse-GTK2 crashes when UIM is enabled as an IM during startup. This is known issue, fixed in upstream trunk, and workaround is known for current released packages.

See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5182 for details.
This fix should be pushed to Debian.

Most probably related to https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16833 (the stacktraces look very similar)

No, I've been recently bitten by this bug as well (malone #5896).
According to upstream [1], this bug still exists in 0.4.9.1 and
resurfaced in Debian/Ubuntu packages 0.4.9.1-1.

Actually, the correct URL to upstream list mail is:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/uim/2005-December/001429.html

Just to clarify, since I was scratching my head today following the link.
