Bug Description

Binary package hint: xmms-sid

Ubuntu edgy universe contains version 0.7.4+0.8.0beta15-2 of xmms-sid, which is broken:
/usr/lib/xmms/Input/libxmmssid.so: undefined symbol: set_song_position
(cf. resolved Debian bug #389463 from Sep'06, e.g. http://<email address hidden>/2006-09/msg04933.html )

The problem can be resolved by a simple rebuild of the plugin.

Hi,

0.7.4+0.8.0beta15-3 is already in feisty, thus I'm closing the bug.

Cheers,
    Stefan.

Well, true. However, until feisty is officially released, standard users will use edgy, and in edgy the package xmms-sid is unusable. Wouldn't it make sense to update the edgy/edgy-updates xmms-sid package accordingly?

Oh, wait. Maybe I committed this to the wrong branch (if there is such a differentiation) - it's supposed to be an edgy bug. Can this be moved, or should I resubmit it there?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, I'm still a newbie in this bug system ;-)

Regards,
Cruncher

@Cruncher: can you please test the new version and report back if it works for you? (you'll need to add edgy-proposed to your sources.list)

Thanks.

I didn't find a new binary package in edgy-proposed, but I found the source package 0.7.4+0.8.0beta15-2build0.1~proposed1 there.
I installed with
$ sudo apt-get -b source xmms-sid
$ sudo dpkg -i xmms-sid_0.7.4+0.8.0beta15-2build0.1~proposed1_i386.deb

and it works nicely.

Thanks!

ok, xmms-sid binary is there in edgy-proposed now.

@Cruncher, would you mind testing the binary as well?

Thanks in advance,
