SRU proposal (Adrien Cunin):

This bug makes the package uninstallable.
The fix is a change in the build dependencies: libgutenprintui2-dev instead of libgutenprintui1-dev.
Already fixed in feisty.

Caroline Ford (secretlondon) wrote :

cinepaint (0.20-1-2) build depends on libgutenprintui1-dev (not available)

cinepaint (0.20-1-2, 0.19-1-1build1) depends on:

libgutenprintui1-1 (>= 5.0.0~rc2) [not amd64] (not available)

libopenexr2c2 (>= 1.2.2) [amd64] (not available)

I'll try and fix the first bit with build deps.

I note that it didn't build in dapper for amd64..

Hi. It doesn't work. Error message while trying to install at Out 31, 23:27 UTC/GMT

"cinepaint:
 Depende: libgutenprintui1-1 (>=5.0.0~rc2) but it is not installable"

I have libgutenprintui2-1 (5.0.0-2ubuntu2) installed, but I couldn't install cinepaint.

Best regards

Osvaldo

I'll take care of this merge during feisty. I suspect that cinepaint will be automatically synced, due to the incorrect version number.

Has this been put through SRU for Edgy?

Is there any chance that the change will be "backported" to Edgy soon?

* Build-Depends: libgutenprintui1-dev -> libgutenprintui2-dev to make the package installable again (Closes: Malone #65457)
* Build-Depends on libpng12-dev to not FTBFS

I had to add a B-D on libpng12-dev because otherwise it FTBFS in edgy. Why? Because this package has not been actually built in edgy (no upload or sync during the edgy development) and libpng12-dev was not needed in dapper. In feisty it is present.

i still have a problem installing cinepaint on 64bit edgy. it's not terribly critical for me, but i just thought i'd let you know:

apt-get install cinepaint cinepaint-data

Die folgenden Pakete haben nichterfüllte Abhängigkeiten:
  cinepaint: Hängt ab: libopenexr2c2 (>= 1.2.2) ist aber nicht installierbar
             Hängt ab: cinepaint-data (= 0.19-1-1build1) aber 0.20-1-2ubuntu0.1 soll installiert werden

Bob Smith (ubuntu-mensetmanus) wrote :

I also cannot install on regular desktop (laptop) edgy. cinepaint-data installs ok, but cinepaint still gives:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  cinepaint: Depends: libgutenprintui1-1 (>= 5.0.0~rc2) but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

Should apt-get install work, or should I do something else?

Martin Pitt (pitti) wrote :

'sudo apt-get -f install' doesn't help?

StefanPotyra (sistpoty) wrote :

Hi,

@howlingmadhowie: the amd64 version of failed to build from source, which is a different bug, see bug #46388 for details.

@Bob Smith: seems like you don't have edgy-updates for *universe* enabled, please check your /etc/apt/sources.list. (the package in updates doesn't have a dependency on libgutenprint1-1, whereas the package in edgy does).

HTH,
     Stefan.

Bob Smith (ubuntu-mensetmanus) wrote :

Martin: No, tried that.

Stefan: That did the trick. I don't know why the installed list didn't work, but it's better now.

Thanks!
Bob
