Woof: major updates

Written for Woof by Tobias Baldauf on 2010-10-23

Woof has received some major updates by Simon Budig since our last revision here on Launchpad. Our new aim for this project is therefore not to continue developing for a multitude of possible desktop-environments, but to refocus Woof in its newest form to integrate seamlessly into the default Ubuntu desktop.

A new local branch has been worked on by Tobias Baldauf for the last couple of weeks, featuring:
* Woof HTML upload-form hosted on the fly on your machine so people NOT using Woof can give files to you
* External IP-address discovery for people outside your LAN
* Seamless integration into the Ubuntu desktop by using notifications, tray-icon and automated copy2clipboard functionality

The current development is supported by some skilled individuals, who will hopefully help Woof to incorporate UPNP / NAT-traversal, so that Woof can actually tell routers & firewalls to direct incoming traffic its way.

The current development-branch will be made available here on Launchpad shortly.

Revision 10 is out!

Finally Revision .10 has been pushed to Launchpad! Woof is now called "Woof" again, builds upon wxpython, has a new main dialogue, much better user-interaction dialogues, more helpful error-messeges, a dedicated Copy-to-Clipboard button and is fully console-ready! Thanks to everyone for their great contributions which made this release possible!
