xorriso creates, loads, manipulates and writes ISO 9660 filesystem images with Rock Ridge extensions, ACLs and
xattr. It can load the management information of existing ISO images and it writes the session results to optical media or to filesystem objects. Vice versa xorriso is able to restore file objects from ISO 9660 filesystems.
xorriso is controlled by options which it reads from command line arguments, readline dialog, and batch files. The ISO 9660 formatter and the burner software for CD, DVD, BD are fixely integrated. It can perform incremental backups, compress file content to zisofs or gzip format, activate ISOLINUX boot images by El Torito boot record and by MBR. There are many more features including a sparse emulation of mkisofs and cdrecord.
xorriso is based on the libburnia libraries. It becomes a dynamically linked application if it gets installed from the libisoburn tarball at libburnia releases page: http://
