The Banshee platform regression team aims to be a QA resource, documenting regressions and provide early testing which cause Banshee to be operating incorrectly.
The PPA resources will track all supported platforms for Banshee within Ubuntu. Complimenting Badgerports.org and the Banshee Maintained release PPA (Banshee Stable PPA) as well as it's associated Banshee PPA resources tracking the Active Development branch as different paces (daily and snapshots).
However as the recent (~dec 2010) SQLite performance problems relating to Ubuntu both switching to the newly created 3.7.x and then shipping their Maverick release with a serious regression which was fixed in updated versions of SQLite, tested and confirmed. However the process might need a push with some early testing.
Providing platform backports from the active development branch of Ubuntu for affected and supported Ubuntu releases. These would tend to be more frequent and require a greater deal of attention. Ultimated packages in this PPA will want to go into ubuntu-backports.
Secondly, providing an early test repo for updates to the actual stable distribution. These are a lot more work and each package needs to be repacked to only contain known and confirmed single fixes which may need additional work and certainly as much attention in testing it can get.
