Ubuntu Trusty (14.04) packages for pd-l2ork
This PPA provides a build of Pd-L2Ork and corresponding Pure and Faust plugins.
Pd-L2Ork is the Linux Laptop Orchestra (L2Ork) version of Pure Data (also known as Pd), Miller Puckette's real-time graphical programming environment for audio and graphics processing. Pd-L2Ork was created by Ivica Ico Bukvic from Virginia Tech. It is based on Hans-Christoph Steiner's popular Pd-extended variant of Pd, but includes many additional bugfixes and user interface enhancements. The PPA also provides the pdl2ork-pure and pdl2ork-faust packages which are the pd-l2ork versions of the pd-pure and pd-faust packages in the Pure PPA (https://launchpad.net/~dr-graef/+archive/pure-lang.trusty). Using these plugins you can extend Pd-L2Ork with externals written in the Pure and Faust programming languages, see https://agraef.github.io/pure-lang/ and http://faust.grame.fr/. The pdl2ork-pure and pdl2ork-faust packages provided here can also be used with the official pdl2ork packages from http://l2ork.music.vt.edu if you install these under /usr or set up the Pd-L2Ork library search path accordingly.
In addition, we also offer Jonathan Wilkes' nw.js variant of Pd-L2Ork, nick-named "Purr-Data", from https://git.purrdata.net/jwilkes/purr-data, along with matching pd-pure and pd-faust packages. Purr Data is the latest, cross-platform version of Pd-L2Ork with an improved JavaScript GUI. This package has been patched up so that both Pd-L2Ork and Purr Data can be installed on the same system.
To add this PPA to your system:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dr-graef/pd-l2ork.trusty
Note that installing the pdl2ork-pure and pdl2ork-faust packages pulls in some dependencies from the Pure PPA, so you'll also need to add this PPA to your system:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dr-graef/pure-lang.trusty
Then run 'sudo apt-get update' to have these PPAs recognized by your packaging software.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:dr-graef/pd-l2ork.trusty to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dr-graef/pd-l2ork.trusty
sudo apt update
