Libraries for building Blender
PPA description
This PPA provides OpenShadingLanguage, OpenSubdiv, and Alembic libraries needed when building Blender with full-features. Also provides old OpenJPEG library that Blender still depends on.
Register this PPA to your system and install additional packages:
sudo apt-get install libopenshadinglanguage-dev openshadinglanguage libosd3-dev libalembic-dev libopenimagedenoise-dev
Also, you need to add the following options to CMake command line:
-DWITH_CYCLES_OSL=ON -DWITH_OPENSUBDIV=ON -DWITH_ALEMBIC=ON -DWITH_OPENIMAGEDENOISE=ON
If you get an error when building CUDA binaries with unsupported version of gcc, try using CMake options to specify host compiler:
-DCUDA_NVCC_FLAGS=--compiler-bindir=gcc-5 -DWITH_CYCLES_CUDA_BINARIES=ON
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:irie/blender-builddep to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:irie/blender-builddep
sudo apt update
