FlightGear Flight Simulator Prerelease

FlightGear Flight Simulator for Ubuntu.

This PPA contains daily builds of the current release branch (if there are any changes on that day) of FlightGear and SimGear from their repositories. This PPA is updated only when there is a release coming up soon (generally, up to 1 month prior to a release).

NOTE: Have only one of my three FlightGear PPAs or the PlayDeb repo enabled at any time. Having multiple enabled may cause problems with incompatible versions of FlightGear, SimGear, or the data package.

NOTE: If you are switching from the daily builds PPA (ppa:saiarcot895/flightgear-edge), you will need to either use PPA Purge to remove all packages in that PPA or remove the packages yourself, and then add this PPA. This is because the versions in the daily builds PPA are higher than the versions here, and so your packages won't be automatically switched over to the ones in this PPA.

If you choose to use this PPA, you should expect to download about 1 GB every 1-2 weeks or so. This is because the base/data files are updated so as to match the updates in the main FlightGear and SimGear, and the package is updated as a group (fgfs-base, fgfs-models-base, fgfs-scenery-base, fgfs-aircraft-base). Depending on your internet connection, the download can take 1 to 2 hours.

I recommend that you run "sudo apt-get autoclean" frequently to remove old packages. The flightgear-data packages can take up a lot of space quickly.

If you are looking for the last stable released version, use ppa:saiarcot895/flightgear.
