tuxonice (stable)

This PPA contains Ubuntu kernel packages with TuxOnIce and the latest userspace tools. To get TuxOnIce (for generic) just install the following 2 packages:

linux-generic-tuxonice tuxonice-userui

Notes:

The kernel packages in this PPA are built by merging the Ubuntu kernel git branches with the corresponding upstream TuxOnIce git branches.

On Ubuntu 12.04 hibernate is disabled by default. Re-enable it using:
https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubuntu-help/power-hibernate.html

In general, you do NOT need to change any configuration file and you do NOT need to install the hibernate package. TuxOnIce automatically determines your swap partition. Just install the 2 packages above and try to suspend and resume ("sudo pm-hibernate" in command line).
If suspend or resume does not work, take a look at "/var/log/pm-suspend.log" and "dmesg", provide feedback on the <email address hidden> mailing list, file a bug or contact the TuxOnIce PPA team members.

If you want to try the hibernate scripts:
Install the "hibernate" package, configure tuxonice in /etc/hibernate/* and suspend using "sudo hibernate". To use the hibernate scripts by default, add the hibernate module to pm-utils using:
"echo SLEEP_MODULE=hibernate >> /etc/pm/config.d/00sleep_module"
