This team provides unofficial ports and backports for the Ubuntu operating system. Essentially, we aim to provide updated versions of software—such as Pidgin and other non-core software—which are consistent with the currently available upstream release. For the moment, the main software we keep up-to-date is Pidgin. However, we might do more down the road.

We do not provide any guarantees with the packages we provide; we will make the statement that we are using these packages, and we have not experienced any issues with them. However, that does not mean that you won’t. The good news is that we do accept bugs against packages we provide, right here in Launchpad. We'll work those bugs when we get them and fix them where possible. Mostly, though, we provide these packages so that we, too, can use the updated software with the current version of our favorite operating system.
