Bug Description

This error occured while trying to send a file to a Sony Xperia S device. Sending the same file to a Galaxy S3 worked from the first try.

While on the Xperia S I get "Transfer failed (0x4f)". And finally it crashed after several tries.

I can confirm this error when I try to send a file via bluetooth to my phone (HTC Desire S) and my tablet (Nexus 7). Also, I cannot send files from my mobile devices to my Ubuntu 12.04 box. There's no reaction on Ubuntu. All devices are paired with each other.

However, I did not have my computer crash when using Bluetooth.

Just got the exact same behavior while trying to send a file to a Galaxy Nexus. My laptop and the GNex paired successfully, but the first send attempt returned "Transfer failed (0x4f)". Then the crash happened after I clicked retry.
I send files to my phone using bluetooth quite regularly, and I never had any problems until today.

I just installed the package libnss-myhostname but the error continues.
