Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
I noticed in a virtual machine that Update Manager reported there were two updates to be installed, though it listed only one in the list of updates. When I checked with apt-get, I found that the update (libnet-dbus-perl) had a new dependency, libxml-twig-perl, which I suspect may be the cause of the discrepancy.
I think Update Manager is correct to display only one update in the list, since the new dependency is incidental, but the count should match the list.
