Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Testing Kubuntu daily 20070414. Attempted to install selecting guided - erase disk as the partitioning method. Installation fails with the error as follows

The attempt to mount a file system with type swap in SCSI1 (0,0,0), partition #5 (sda) at none failed.

You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu.

I attempted to repeat from the partitioning page again using guided-erase disk and got the same result. Prior to starting the installation the disk had working installs of Windows XP, Edgy and Kubuntu 20070414 on it. The kubuntu 20070414 install was created using guided auto-resize as the partition method as part of the iso testing program using the same liveCD. Usual logs to follow.

This could be related to bug 99908 but it's a different error. This bug occurred on the same machine as bug 99908, see there for hardware. This machine seems to have issues doing installs using erase disk that are probably due to lack of memory. I don't think this is critical but should still be reported.

I'm going to be offline until tomorrow so I can't do much until then. Feel free to contact me if you need more info and I'll check back then or ping me as Arby on IRC
