Bug Description

This is what is replaced with the clock. It says "Date format not supported". The only way I can get the clock back is if, under the clock tab, "Weekday" and "Date and month" are unchecked.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1073403/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Hello, can you please check your locale settings? Just type locale in a terminal and paste the info here. It might be related to that.

Some more info is here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Locale. Maybe you can find a fix.

Thanks.

This definitely seems to be a problem with the indicator being unable to cope with an unexpected locale setting. I had "export LANG=C" in my ~/.profile file, and saw the same behavior. After modifying the line to "export LC_COLLATE=C", the datetime-indicator now works properly.

I also hit this problem, caused by LANG=C . Switched to LC_ALL=C and the clock now displays as it should.

This has occured to me after Installing a different language pack and then removing it.

Putting English back on top of Language Support menu, applying the settings system-wide and restarting has fixed it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
