TI SD Card reader doesn't work on LG laptop

i experienced same case with @alexander, my LG LS50 can't detect the TI CardBus controller, and neither can to modprobe with tifm* and mmc*.
here i attached the dmesg log and lspci -vvnn.

This issue is one that should be reproducable with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Gutsy Gibbon. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the actively developed kernel. yes, i am using gutsy as well now, but my LS-50 still does not recognize my cardreader

Does anyone could make something with this issue? Every time I need to boot in MS WinXP to get data from SD card. This is really problem for me and other LG laptop owners :( Let me know if you need more information from me.

The Hardy Heron Alpha series was recently released. Alpha2 and subsequent releases contain an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/ . Please note that Alpha3 will be released within the next day or two so you may want to wait. You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you can, please verify if this bug still exists or not and report back your results. General information regarding the release can also be found here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ .

It looks like the Yenta socket driver is correctly claiming the device. Update to the current kernel (2.6.24-7.12). Please attach /var/log/syslog after inserting the SD media. Also try 'sudo fdisk -l'.

P.S. Don't compress the attachments.

SD card was inserted into notebook, after dmesg and syslog were captured. Please find all details in the attachment.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux-image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and test.

--or--

2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4. Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced. You should then be able to test via a LiveCD.

Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the 2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26 kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback.

I have LG LM50 laptop. I have recently upgrade to ubuntu 9.04 . And the Texas SD Reader don't work. I attach the output of lspci -xxx. I have using ubuntu from 6.04 , and never the reader has work for ubuntu. I would like to help to resolve this issue. Thanks.
