Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-6-generic

Another hibernation issue on HP NX6310 laptop: after waking up from suspend to disk, computer works fine for 2-3 minutes and then hangs completely: no response from the system, and the only way to get online is a hard reset.
Tech specs: Intel Core Duo T2050 1,66Ghz, 945GM Chipset with Intel on-board graphics. Bios F.09

Suspend to ram works fine.

Ok so I have F.09 bios which is not the newest one, but on this one I was able to get suspend to disk/ram running on Debian Lenny. On newer version there are issues with stability. Anyway I checked and hibernation does not work on the newer versions with the same symptoms.
"uname -a"
Linux nx6310 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Thu Jun 7 20:19:32 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

As for /var/log/kern.log.0 I hibernated, waked up the system, it hanged after about 4 minutes and I switched off and back on the computer. However the file is empty.

Here is /var/log/kern.log which changed during the last hibernation/wakeup attempt... maybe this will help

The issues I've pointed out here have been resolved with new bios version F.OD and kernel 2.6.22.
However new problems emerged which I have described here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.22/+bug/163675

I currently use only Gutsy Gibbon, therefore I cannot track any future changes in Feisty concerning this issue.

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.

The 18 month support period for Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 has reached its end of life -

linux-source-2.6.22 kernel task. It would be helpful if you could test the
new Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 release and confirm if this issue remains -
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/904overview. If the issue still exists with the Jaunty
release, please update this report by changing the Status of the "linux (Ubuntu)"
