Skype video is green on Haswell

Bug Description

I had a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS.

I downloaded skype-ubuntu-precise_4.2.0.11-1_i386.deb from the official site and installed it on my Haswell (i7 4770k) computer wich uses Intel Graphics. No video card in this system.

Both local and remote skype video on my screen was solid green, the remote partner could see me without problems.

I tried downgrading to skype-debian_2.2.0.35-1_amd64.deb which is known to be working on my Sandy Bridge ( i7 2630QM) machine. This resulted in local (preview) video working both remote still being solid green.

I found a workaround that fixed both skype versions:

- Generate an /etc/X11/xorg.conf with Xorg -configure
- Add the folowing to Device section for Intel Graphics
     Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"

This wrokaround slows down all accelerated graphics - I wish the default would work..

The committ mentioned in comment #1 looks like it was included in xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.21.10. Ubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" currently has xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.21.14-4ubuntu3. You can get this commit onto your Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS system by using the xorg-edgers PPA at https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa?field.series_filter=precise which currently contains xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.21.15+git20130821.f57ce6ef-0ubuntu0sarvatt~precise

This is not just a problem for skype, if you open gstreamer-properties and test video with the default Autodetect setting, it will also display green

I believe this was fixed as part of https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/precise-changes/2013-November/020703.html (2:2.21.6-0ubuntu4.3~precise1) - it fixed the Xv video output on my Haswell and eg. the gstreamer-propeties test.
