Bug Description

HP's dv5000 series laptops use this built in wireless adapter:
Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)
                        14e4:4318 (rev 02)

Ubuntu either does not recognize the unit or is unable to use it to create a wireless connection.

Confirmed in Ubuntu Feisty (and Gutsy). I exclusively use the "ndiswrapper" driver, which works great. Due the large number of wifi cards it is probably not feasible to include every driver into the image.

Take a look at: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
