Bug Description

This happens every time I try to udate using the software updater, I've tried to clean it using apt-get cle3an and automremove, but it does'nt work.

I now generally untick it under the software updater so that the rest of the updates can work without a problem

Thanks for your report.

This kind of issue happens from time to time, and personally I find it frustrating since I have no idea how to fix it.

I wonder.. Did you possibly check out that symlink? Do you see anything odd with it?

What happens if you delete the link and then try to install ubuntu-docs?

And if that doesn't help, can you please try remove the package and then install it again?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!

Hi Gunnar

I went into Synaptic and completely removed the package, then did an
update and re-installed it, it worked, cured the problem

Thanks

Thanks for letting us know. The bot suspects a hardware problem, so it's probably a good idea to check that out somehow.
