System freezes during Gnome startup

Bug Description

Using kernel package linux-image-2.6.11-1-686, the system freezes while starting
Gnome. Neither the mouse or keyboard respond and I can't SSH in.

I don't get this behaviour under linux-image-2.6.10-4-686.

The 2.6.11 in universe is an experimental package that is based on a bitkeeper
verison of the linus kernel tree. The reason why it is freezing right now is
because of inotify. A proper 2.6.11.1 kernel is on my todo list this week.

Concentrating on 2.6.10 for hoary release. Will have a look at this later.
