no option to auto-resize when booted via 'grub-n-iso'

Bug Description

During isotesting of Lubuntu, I did not get any option to auto-resize, only upgrade 14.04.2 LTS, erase 14.04.2 LTS, erase the whole drive, and 'something else'.

It was not possible to run the testcase 'Install (auto-resize)'.

(Furthermore, the system 'found' Linux Mint, but it was only a trace of an erased Linux Mint iso file and maybe some configuration file.)

Edit:

I think the problem was that I booted the installer via grub2 and the iso file: 'grub-n-iso', which seems to have confused the alternatives of the installer.

Most odd, I've just done this on 64 bit desktop okay. I'll try the i386 as soon as I've posted my pass result.

@ Phill W,

The target drive was a USB 3 drive. Could that have caused the confusion?

If you think it is wrong to report it as a red bug at the testing tracker, I'm willing to change the test result to passed or even delete
my report at the testing tracker. We could also make the testcase optional or even change it to something more relevant for the current version.

But I think this bug report should stay, because it describes a real situation.

I have the same problem when the target is an internal drive (with Lubuntu 14.04.2 LTS).

This time I used mkusb to create a 'clean' boot drive. Now there is an option to auto-resize:

'Installera Lubuntu 15.10 vid sidan av Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS' which translates to 'Install alongside'

What is "grub-n-iso"? Where did it come from?

"grub-n-iso" is a nickname for booting via grub2 and an ISO file. This is documented at several places in the Ubuntu Wiki and Help pages, and there are some tutorial threads at the Ubuntu Forums. See for example

To be precise, I was using a pendrive created via the 'grub-n-iso' method for iso-testing of

that I made (and shared in that link).
