Nice one, thanks. Is this released yet? I'll give it a try when it is and report back. Hopefully it should fix my issues here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1568865 which went away with a 4.6.0-rc7 kernel.

Incidentally 4.6.0 is now released and it seems like there's a few more i915 related commits in the changelog since rc7, dunno if it's worth including those too?

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-xenial' to 'verification-done-xenial'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!
