checkboxes are too hard to see on default xubuntu theme

Bug Description

On the default Xubuntu theme, a checkbox shows a dark grey box with a black check mark. If the line it belongs to is selected, the checkbox becomes black on white, but until this is done, I find it impossible to see what state the checkbox is in (and in fact, I couldn't tell at first it was even a checkbox).

Thank you for your bug report. I can't reproduce this, could you give an example of a soft where it happens ? Thanks.

status: New → Incomplete
Changed in xubuntu-artwork:

Maybe it's only apps run as root.
Look at the checkboxes for the connections in the Network Settings app.

Joachim: this happens because the checkbox is not checkable, you have to configure the interface first by double-clicking on it.

I'll suscribe jimmac who designed the theme to have his opinion on this.
